Basketball...Basketball...Basketball!

It has been a week of basketball at our house. Last night I had the best time ever at Dad's basketball game. Ella, a friend from preschool, was also at the game. We had soooo much fun dancing to the music and then playing on the basketball court after the game. Ella is one of the best friends I could ever hope for! I also saw alot of my other friends because they were doing a cheerleading routine at halftime. They learned the routine at the Thunderpup Cheerleading Camp earlier in the day. Next year I'm going to go to the camp so I can cheerlead also! Maybe Ella will do it with me! Last night I did alot of walking and trying to jump. Tonight was another basketball game but this time I got to go recruiting with Dad. We checked it out beforehand to make sure me helping out with recruiting wouldn't be an NCAA violation! Dad said I did a really good job at the game so I hope I get to go recruiting again! Mom hopes so too....when Dad and I were busy recruiting she got to relax at home!

Check Out What I Can Do Now!

Even though my walking comes and goes, I'm still learning all kinds of new things. Mom has been trying to teach me how to click my tongue on the roof of my mouth and also put my tongue up towards my nose. We think that if I learn these things it will help me be able to produce some new sounds...and maybe someday say some really cool words! How exciting would that be! You can check out my video of how I'm progressing on learning the new things to do with my tongue. I had just had my IV put in a little before the video so that's why I look a little rough.
Other things I've been learning is I can really use my spoon and fork much better. Mom and I went out to eat a few weeks ago and I was just amazing! Mom said she felt like she was out to eat with such a big girl! And when I write, I can make the letter "m" when Mommy or my teachers ask me to. Tonight I practiced picking out the letters "m" and "e." I'm saying so many new sounds and putting them together in alot of different ways. The other night I was saying "baba" for "basketball!" I'm also getting alot better at putting together my shape puzzles. Mom makes silly noises when I get one all put together so that makes it extra fun to practice the puzzles. Maybe I'll ask Mom to take a video of me doing my puzzles. But for now...Mom and I are celebrating that Dad's basketball team won tonight! Go Thunderwolves!

Final Results Are In

Well...Mom got a call from the doctor about the bone scan. Like all of the other tests from Tuesday, it was normal. That makes for a sad day at our house because now we don't know where to go next in trying to figure out what is going on with my leg. Mom and I decided we are going to just hang out this weekend and enjoy all the great things that I am doing. Dad is gone for the weekend at basketball games. Although if I know my Mom...after I go to bed she will sneak downstairs to try to keep figuring this out. Please keep saying prayers that we find an answer.

Good News...Bad News!

Well...the good news is I finished all of my tests yesterday. The bad news is so far we still don't know anything more. The blood test and nerve tests were both normal. We are still waiting to hear the official results from the bone scan. Preliminary info is that it was normal as well. Yesterday was pretty stressful. It took two pokes to get my IV in. Mom was so proud of me...even though I was getting poked, I stayed so still. By the time it was time for me to go to sleep for my tests, I hadn't eaten anything for 21 hours (except for a glass of milk 12 hours earlier)..so I was pretty cranky and went to sleep crying. I woke up kind of slow from the anesthesia but boy did that jello ever taste good once I got going. And I LOVED the piece of pumpkin pie Mom brought from home so I could eat it on the long drive home. Pumpkin pie is my favorite food right now! Please continue to say prayers that we figure out what is causing my walking problems.

Start Sending Up the Prayers!

Just wanted to ask for your prayers on Tuesday. That's when I go back to The Children's Hospital in Denver to repeat tests that will hopefully give us answers about my walking and thus, give us direction about how to treat it once and forever! A person never wants tests to show something is wrong, but in this case...I'm agreeing with Mom. If they find something wrong, this means there would be an explanation...which would mean the doctors will likely know how to treat it. So please say your prayers that the tests will find an explanation, but that it will be easily treatable.

Happy 2008!

Hope you had a great celebration to the New Year. As for myself, I celebrated east coast time then hit the hay so didn't celebrate with the folks here in Colorado. Then decided to bring in the New Year with my friends in California so woke up at 1AM and stayed awake 'til 3AM! Mom and Dad had a hard time understanding why I didn't just celebrate at the same time everyone else in Colorado did!
I've been having alot of fun playing with all of my new Christmas toys. I've almost mastered making the swing keep going all by myself. I can now balance my round see saw without anyone else holding on to it. And....I can now balance on my pedal pusher. Mom loves the new Crayola magic markers I got even more than I do!!! I think it is because the only place they work is on the special Crayola paper. That means no more pretty colors on my hands, no more stains to get out of the laundry, no more marks in the walls, floors, tables....you get the idea!!!
I'm keeping up my gift wrapping skills for next year's Christmas. Since I watched Mom wrap presents, I been putting many of my little toys in boxes and wrapping them up in old paper or my blanket. Grandma said Mom also used to do this when she was a little girl. I hope Mom keeps me in mind for the position of Present Wrapping Assistant next year.
Yesterday Mom and I had breakfast at McDonalds before we went to get my car seat checked out at the Safety Checkpoint and then did some shopping. I can now make it up two levels in the McDonald's play structure but getting down is a problem. At least it gives Mom the opportunity to see the inside of the play structure. Most parents don't get that opportunity!
